Why the name "Red Bike" Capital?
When Muhammad Ali, then Cassius Clay, was a twelve year-old boy in Kentucky, his red Schwinn bicycle was stolen. He found a policeman to report the crime and said “I want to whup this guy.” The police man said that if he wanted to whup someone, he better learn how to fight. Turns out, the policeman was Sergeant Joe Martin, a boxing coach that ran a local boxing gym. For the first 6 years of his career, Ali trained with Martin, earning six Golden Gloves, two national Amateur Titles and a Gold medal in the 1960 Olympics.
This story represents our mission at Red Bike Capital, helping founders navigate pivotal moments towards Product-Market-Fit and growth. Guiding through transformational events and overcoming adversity. We see our role as the first coach, teaching founders how to "fight" to win.
