Why the name "Red Bike" Capital?
When Muhammad Ali, then Cassius Clay, was a twelve year old boy in Kentucky, his red Schwinn bicycle was stolen. He found a policeman to report the crime and said “I want to 'whup' this guy”. Turns out, the policeman was Sergeant Joe Martin, who was a boxing coach and ran a local boxing gym. For the first 6 years of his career, Ali trained with Martin, earning six Kentucky Golden Gloves, two national Amateur Titles and a Gold medal in the 1960 Olympics.
This story represents our mission at Red Bike Capital- helping founders drive pivotal moments towards PMF and growth, guiding through transformational events and overcoming adversity. We see our role as the first coach, teaching founders how to "fight" (startups are not for the faint of heart) to win and specialize in GTM strategy and landing first enterprise clients.
